Airport Board

The Airport Board is made up of ten members who advise and maintain the operations of the Danville-Boyle County Airport at 420 Airport Road, Danville, Kentucky. There are no formal educational or occupational requirements for serving on the
Air Board, but members should be dedicated to the maintenance and promotion of Stuart Powell Field.

Beautification Committee

The Cemetery Committee is responsible for developing and administering a written plan for the planting, maintenance, and removal of trees or other growth on all cemetery lands. The Committee advises the Board of Commissioners concerning other worthwhile activities to improve the physical environment and the aesthetic quality of the Cemeteries.

Convention & Visitors Bureau

The Convention & Visitors Bureau or the "Tourism Commission" consists of seven citizens with representatives of the City of Danville, Boyle County, local hotels and members of the Chamber of Commerce. The responsibility of the commission is to promote tourism in Danville and Boyle County.

County Board of Assessment Appeals

Meets Annually at the Boyle County Courthouse

This is a county board used to hear appeals on property taxes. The Mayor of Danville is entitled to make one appointment because the City has the largest assessment using the county tax role. Each member of the board shall have extensive knowledge or real estate values, preferably in real estate appraisals, sales, management, financing, or construction. The appointment of the Mayor shall be a certified real estate appraiser unless the Mayor provides sufficient proof of his inability to secure such a person.

Danville Architectural Heritage Board

The Architectural Heritage Board is responsible for protecting historic areas and buildings in Danville. The members shall have demonstrated an interest in historic preservation. At least two members must have training or experience in a preservation-related profession; architecture, history, archaeology, architectural history, planning, or related fields. Each member shall attend at least one educational meeting on historic preservation per year. (The meeting shall have been approved by the state historic preservation officer).

Danville-Boyle County Development Corporation Board

The Danville-Boyle County Development Corporation Board, is an alliance of the Boyle County Industrial Foundation, Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce, Danville-Boyle County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Main Street Perryville, and the local governments of Boyle County, Kentucky, and Cities of Danville, Junction City, and Perryville.  The Board elaborates, and coordinates the Partners’ interdependent economic development missions, resources, and initiatives to grow the economy of Boyle County.   As a unified team, the partners provide Boyle County, its communities, and its citizens with a cost-effective array of community and economic development services.

Ethics Board

Meets as neccessary

Members must be a city resident of at least one year who does not hold an elected office or appointed office or position with the city. Must have a known reputation for integrity and knowledge of city government. The Board of Commissioners may appoint two alternate members of the Board of Ethics who may be called upon to serve when any regular member of the Board is unable to discharge his/her duties. An alternate member shall be appointed for a term of one year. Alternate members shall meet all qualifications and be subject to all of the requirements of this article that apply to regular members. The function of the board is to enforce all provisions of the ethics ordinance.


Human Rights Commission

The function of the commission is to safeguard all individuals from discrimination. This is an 11 member County board. The Mayor of Danville may make four appointments.


Municipal Housing Commission

The function of the board is to operate public housing projects in Danville, Junction City and Perryville.No more than two members from the same political party are allowed. No officer or employee of the city can be a member. Each member must be a resident of the city for at least one year and be at least 25 years of age.


Parking Regulation Board

The board is established to conduct hearings and to enforce the provisions of Article IV of Chapter 17 of the Code of Ordinances, for parking citations and enforce regulations.

Sister Cities Commission

The purpose of the commission is to foster international relations between people of sister cities.


Streetscape Committee

This committee shall provide guidance and make recommendations to the Board Commissioners of the City of Danville concerning all matters pertaining to the Streetscape Master Plan and decisions and activities implementing the plan.
